Lionwood Junior School is closed to all children on Monday 4th January 2021 due to insufficient staff numbers.

We will open for vulnerable children and children of critical workers on Tuesday 5th January 2021.

We do not know when it will be safe to open but will keep parents/carers fully informed and review the situation daily.

On this page you can find out which Year Groups have children on site with symptoms of COVID-19 (not CONFIRMED CASES) as well as other information to support parents in knowing what to do in the case of their child or others having symptoms etc.

If we have a CONFIRMED case we will contact parents immediately by text and email with details of what to do next.

Below is the information about what parents should do in different scenarios, including when to self isolate, how to get a test etc.

Please note that the symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to those of colds, flu and other viruses and diseases, so that many people will have symptoms without having COVID-19.

All people with symptoms and members of their households are told to self-isolate and have tests as advised by government guidance.  NOBODY should come to school with symptoms or if they have been told to self-isolate.

Sometimes it is hard to know whether the symptoms are C19 symptoms and therefore whether you need to get a test.  This site maybe useful in helping you decide what to do:

If someone in your household has symptoms please get a test as quickly as possible – most results are coming back between 24-48 hours currently.
